EURO-JOURNAL DAY 7 (OBERENTFELDEN)

Today was nice and chilled. I cleaned Carol's house in the morning then drove to the supermarket. But it seems Switzerland is quite conservative about Sunday work as almost everything was closed. So I drove into Aarau which is much bigger. I still couldn't find anywhere to restock the fridge which I had been emptying at an impressive rate. However, I did find a wee pub/restaurant in which the manageress didn't speak English, but could understand "beer" and "wifi". I spent a few hours writing while slowly sipping my beer and wondering what the legal driving limit is in Switzerland. In Japan it was 0.00 and back home its 0.08, but I really have no idea what that means.
Carol arrived back from Zurich in the afternoon and showed me around the centre of Aarau, which I hadn't been able to find earlier. We went to another nice cafe. This time on the street of the pedestrianised centre. Over a local beer Carol told me that Aarau's population is only about 15,000, but astonishingly Napoleon made it the capital when he conquered Switzerland.
Tonight was the last to stay at Carol's family home, so we packed up for a road trip, enjoyed some homemade pasta; another of Carols great dishes. A dip in the jacuzzi and then a Woody Allen movie (Manhattan - which just seems to be about a selfish old guy dating a 17 year old. But maybe I just didn't get it).

Carol's lovely home.

Garden jacuzzi; I could get used to this.
