EURO-JOURNAL DAY 12 (INNSBRUCK AND HALL)

We had a good breakfast at the grandma hotel. Then drove to Innsbruck. It wasn't as close as we'd anticipated, so I'm glad we didn't attempt to come all this way last night.First impressions of Austria and Innsbruck are bery good. Lovely old city with cobbled stone streets, lot's of buskers and has a safe and friendly feel to it. We checked into a hostel in the old town and then explored the city a little.
In the afternoon I called up DD to let him know that we were in Innsbruck. DD is an Austrian guy I met nine years ago when I was backpacking Australia. We were both working on and partying at the same campsite on Magnetic Island. We hit it off and traveled a month or two together, up the coast and then into the bush on an adventure with two Germans and car that wasn't build for the roads we took.
DD and I had lost touch years and years ago, but in Switzerland I suddenly thought of him an after a google and facebook search I was able to get in contact.
DD picked us up at the hostel and drove us to his home in Hall, a small town just outside Innsbruck. We had a great catchup over a BBQ with his 8-month pregnant wife. It was great to see him again and reminisce on the hedonistic Australian days when we were both in our early twenties and a little wild.
